Pissy defendant punishes lawyer by pouring water over his head

11/22/2012

A man on trial for first-degree murder got so upset when a mistrial wasn't declared that he decided the best way to vent his frustration was to pick up a cup of water and pour it over his attorney's head. Right after jurors were excused to begin deliberations in the case of Jerome Power, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, man accused of murdering his neighbor, Power dumped the water on his lawyer, Steve Addington, and declared, "It should have been a mistrial. You sold me out!" Power was later convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Doris Bevins, who was strangled in 2010. [Source]
