Dallas Cowboy killed in car crash; teammate charged with manslaughter

12/8/2012

Jerry Brown, a Dallas Cowboys practice-squad linebacker, was killed in a car crash early Saturday morning around 2:20 a.m. His teammate, Josh Brent, was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter. A police spokesperson says Brent was behind the wheel on Saturday morning when the car hit a curb and flipped over. Authorities found Brown unresponsive at the scene, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. Brent, who was arrested after failing a sobriety test, pleaded guilty to a DUI charge in 2009 and spent 60 days in jail. [Source]
