MTV makes the world a better place, cancels 'Jersey Shore'
8/30/2012After six seasons, myriad dustups, a bazillion drunken hook-ups, and (at least) one pregnancy, "Jersey Shore" will call it quits, MTV has announced. The show responsible for tarnishing the (really very lovely) Jersey Shore, making stars of its (not even always Italian) guidos, and drawing the ire of a generation of New Jersey politicians has seen its ratings swoon the past couple seasons. The upcoming and final season debuts October 4. The network is no doubt hoping to milk spin-offs "Snooki and JWoww" and "The Pauly D Project," but for the mothership, at least, the GTL is closed.
