Jilted boyfriend feeds ex's hamster to his dog

Someone should have told Ryan O'Brien that the way to an ex-girlfriend's heart is not through holding her hamsters hostage. After getting dumped by girlfriend Jemma Tracey, the thuggish 22-year-old demanded a $32 ransom for her beloved pets. When she wouldn't pay, O'Brien flung one hamster into the wall. It survived, but O'Brien promptly crushed it with his boot and let his bulldog eat the remains. He then held a knife to the second hamster's throat; Jemma handed over $8 and "fled with her surviving pet." O'Brien was charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and received a suspended six-month sentence. He's also probably ruined his chances of ever finding another girlfriend.
