Woman trapped in car with 5-year-old dies after 911 dispatching error

An Arkansas woman called 911 after a car accident, but an error by the operator may have contributed to her death. Jinglei Yi lost control of her car on an icy road and drove into a pond. She and her 5-year-old son were trapped in the vehicle when she called for help. The 911 operator reportedly neglected to enter the call into the computerized dispatching system — an ambulance was called, but police and firefighters didn't learn of Yi's accident until 30 minutes later.
