J.J. Abrams to direct next 'Star Wars,' and it had better not suck
1/25/2013Just call J.J. Abrams the sultan of sci-fi. After injecting new life into the "Star Trek" franchise with a 2009 reboot (his "Star Trek Into Darkness" opens May 18), Abrams now has scored the dream job of dream jobs. He has reportedly been tapped to direct the next "Star Wars" film, the first since Disney bought the franchise in 2012. The new king of fanboys edged out Ben Affleck for the coveted job. With his track record, Abrams should please worried "Star Wars" aficionados, who are already camping out for the film's scheduled 2015 release. May the force be with you, J.J. — you’re going to need it with that crazy, er, passionate fanbase. [Source]
