Joe Biden wipes away tears after his son formally nominates him for VP
9/7/2012It was a formality, but it provided one of the more unexpected and genuinely sweet moments of the Democratic National Convention. On Thursday night, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden formally nominated his father, Joe Biden, for a second term as vice president. "He’s the father I’ve always known, the grandfather my children love and adore, and the vice president our nation needs," Beau Biden said of his dad, whom he also called "my hero."
