Joe Paterno statue will stay at Penn State, despite ire
7/15/2012Angry outcries haven't swayed the Penn State Board of Trustees to remove the statue of Joe Paterno from campus. Today the board announced the bronze effigy will remain in place – at least for now – noting it didn't want to be pressured by media. The panel also pointed to the many alumni and students who still admire the man who served the athletic program for six decades. Yet others feel the late coach's complicity in hiding Jerry Sandusky's rape and abuse of children, as uncovered this week in the Freeh Report, has made the statue a loathed reminder of everything that occurred.[Source]
Do you think the statue should come down?
