Mayor kicked out of kids' wrestling tournament for heckling referee
2/26/2013Dennis Buchman has been a ref for high school wrestling tournaments for 22 years, so he's probably used to hecklers by now. But he probably didn't expect to be harassed by an elected official. During a district tournament Saturday, Bethlehem, Pa., Mayor — and former Congressional candidate — John Callahan reportedly shouted "That's terrible, you're horrible, that call is terrible!" several times. After an extra-loud "That was an awful call!" Buchman ejected Callahan from the stands. "I applaud the ref that kicked the mayor out," John Mayer of the Center for Ethical Youth Coaching said. "He deserves a medal." He also deserves a day in Callahan's office, shouting "THAT CITY POLICY IS TERRIBLE!" while the mayor tries to do HIS job. [Source]
