Mob boss, old enough to know better, set to turn 100 in jail

A federal appeals court has ruled that, despite his advanced age, 95-year-old mob boss John "Sonny" Franzese must serve out his eight-year prison sentence for racketeering. Franzese, a former underboss of the Colombo crime family, has a colorful history: He was once a regular at the Copacabana nightclub, where he rubbed elbows with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr, he had a stake in the classic porn flick "Deep Throat," boasted about killing 60 people and even considered taking a hit out on his own son, according to an FBI agent. With credit for good behavior and time already served, Franzese is scheduled to be released in June 2017. [Source]
