Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada met her walking through streets of Belfast. Now the 6-year-old girl is the face of the city's arts festival, but only if you can get a bird's-eye view. "Wish" is the latest of Rodriguez-Gerada's earthworks portraits, and required moving more than 4,400 tons of soil and sand with the help of satellite navigation, a process that took 18 months. The Cuban-American artist started with a picture of the girl making a wish with the goal to "make that pure and simple look into something very profound and large." Very large -- it covers 11 acres in the city's Titanic Quarter. Tall buildings in the area have been opened up for public viewings, but visitors will need to get there soon as the elements have their way, making her look as if she's wishing for a washcloth to wipe the mud off her face.
