Gun-outing newspaper gets package with suspicious white powder

The tension between the Journal News and gun owners is ratcheting up after the Westchester County, N.Y., newspaper published an interactive map with the names and addresses of area residents with handgun permits, then a blogger published the names and addresses of paper staffers. The latest scary plot twist: A package containing a suspicious white powder turned up in the paper's mailroom, prompting emergency procedures, including decontamination for the employee who opened the envelope. Ultimately, the powder was found to be harmless. The paper's publisher says her staff's safety is her "top priority." It’s unclear what the armed guards she hired can do for those poor schlubs in the mailroom. [Source]
