Judge orders mom to cut daughter's hair in court
6/23/2012In March, two Utah girls, ages 11 and 13, cut off a chunk of a three-year-old's long, curly hair at a McDonald's. The court ordered both girls to get haircuts of their own, but one mother has filed a complaint about it. The 13-year-old was sentenced to 30 days in detention and 276 hours of community service, but the judge told the girl's mother she would lop off 150 hours if they agreed to cut her daughter's hair, right then and there, in the courtroom. They did, and the victim's mother took even more off. "I wish I didn't do it," the 13-year-old's mom said. Let's hope her daughter feels the same way.
Did the judge do the wrong thing?
