Judge spares dog's life, sentencing him to jail instead
5/3/2012Even a bad dog gets a second chance. A Louisiana judge spared the life of a wolf hybrid named Chief this week, sentencing him to a life behind bars as a guard dog at the state's maximum security prison in Angola instead. Judge James Best's reprieve comes after residents complained about the animal's aggressive behavior, which led to an order that he be euthanized. Prison officials came to Chief's defense and convinced the judge that Chief would be a perfect fit prowling the perimeter fences that encircle the prison. Note to inmates: Beware of dog. Congratulations, Chief.
Did the judge make the right decision?
