4-foot-5 fifth grader making high school hoopsters look silly

Julian Newman doesn't even come up to the armpits of some of the opponents he plays against at Downey Christian School in Orlando, but he's nothing short of basketball magic. Just 11 years old and standing 4-foot-5, the fifth grader was promoted to the high school varsity by his coach and father, Jamie, who's an unabashed fan. "He does stuff that hasn't been done before with the ball,” gushes Dad. But there's no nepotism in the kid's game: Julian is averaging a dozen points and 11 assists in three varsity starts.
