Junior Seau's family handing his brain over to science
5/4/2012Two days after former NFL star Junior Seau died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, his family has decided to donate his brain to researchers studying the effect of concussions, a contentious subject for the league. More than 100 former players filed a lawsuit yesterday saying the NFL didn't protect them from concussions. Last year, another former player, Dave Duerson, also shot himself in the chest and left a note asking his family to donate his brain to be studied. Seau left no note, but his family has decided to do it in order "to help other individuals down the road," the L.A. Times reports.
Is the NFL doing all it can do to protect its players?
