Jury finds Jerry Sandusky guilty of child sex abuse

6/23/2012

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has been found guilty of child sexual abuse. Sandusky, 68, once a pillar of the community in the football mecca of State College, Pa., had been charged with 48 counts of sexually abusing 10 boys over a period of 15 years and was found guilty of 45 of them. Eight of his victims testified at the trial. In closing arguments, Pennsylvania state prosecutor Joseph McGettigan told jurors to "give (Sandusky) the justice he really deserves and find him guilty of everything." Sandusky, who did not testify in his own defense, will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
