Karl Rove has had it with unelectable Tea Party candidates
2/4/2013Karl Rove does not like to lose, and he's devised a new strategy to avoid doing it whenever possible. Rove wants to defeat unelectable Tea Party candidates, supporting a new Super PAC built just for that purpose. The Conservative Victory Project is led by Steven Law, who also heads up Karl Rove's American Crossroads Super PAC. Law thinks Republicans have "blown a significant number of races" because ultra-conservative Tea Party types won GOP primaries but couldn't beat Democrats in general elections. The new group received a frosty reception from hardline conservatives, with Matt Hoskins of the Senate Conservative Fund calling it "yet another example of the Republican establishment's hostility toward its conservative base."
