Sorry, Kate Middleton, but your official portrait is pretty awful
1/11/2013The first official portrait of Kate Middleton has been unveiled, and it shows the Duchess of Cambridge as she'll look in the year 2045, after she's raised several children and — wait, what? That's supposed to be her now? Oh my. The already-criticized oil painting was done by artist Paul Emsley and took more than three months to complete. Emsley said that Middleton asked to be portrayed as her "natural" self as opposed to her "official" self. "I think it was the right choice in the end to have her smiling. That's really who she is, I think," Emsley said. Or, from the looks of this portrait, it's who she'll be in another 30 years. [Source]
