KFC takes heat for pushing chicken during tsunami alert
4/12/2012We can't imagine that most people fleeing to safety after a tsunami warning are thinking about their stomachs -- but some bright bulb over at KFC Thailand clearly thought a little fried chicken would help ease their troubles away. In a misjudged moment of madness during yesterday's tsunami's alerts, the Thai chain's Facebook page posted, "Let's hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don't forget to order your favorite KFC menu." Unsurprisingly, the ill-timed message attracted a slew of critical tweets, from "awful use of social media" and "what not to do in an emergency" to the short but sweet "disgusting." The KFC post has now been removed and an apology issued.
