Friends' wedding gift sparks police helicopter manhunt

An unusual wedding gift took a bizarre turn when some friends making a video ended up being the subjects of a police manhunt for "kidnappers." When two women traveling in a car in the German town of Borken saw a woman being bundled into the back of a car by two men wearing balaclavas, they followed and called the cops. They lost the green Opel Corsa at some point in their panicked pursuit and police took over, using a helicopter to search for the supposed kidnappers and appealing to the public for information. Hours later, a woman turned herself in to the police explaining that the witnesses had actually seen the production of a short film, "The Stolen Wedding Gift," which was intended to be their present to the engaged couple.
