Gunman who killed firefighters left chilling suicide note behind

12/26/2012

"I still have to … do what I like doing best: killing people." William Spengler Jr. wrote that chilling line in his suicide note, shortly before the upstate New York man set his house on fire, shot four of the firefighters who responded to the blaze and killed himself. Two of the firefighters died from their injuries, and officers found a fourth body in the house — presumably Spengler's sister. Officers are also investigating how Spengler acquired the guns used in the massacre; as a convicted felon he was not allowed to own the weapons. Spengler previously spent 17 years in prison for beating his grandmother to death with a hammer. [Source]
