N. Korea commemorates leader's death, reminds everyone he's still dead

12/17/2012

North Korea is commemorating the one-year anniversary of Kim Jong Il's death by putting the leader's body on display, opening his glass coffin so that select visitors can pay homage to him and his trademark khaki jumpsuit (ever present, even in death). Government officials also revealed his yacht and "armored train carriage" to the public, along with several of his personal belongings, including his oversize sunglasses, platform shoes and MacBook Pro. Instead of sending flowers, North Korea memorialized him with a controversial rocket launch, one that "potentially violates a United Nations ban on … missile activity." Next year, they may just want to go with an engraved iPod or something. [Source]
