Who can post a Pedobear look-alike? The Kit Kat candy man can

Just hours after posting its first Instagram picture, Kit Kat had to take a break from the photo site. The problem? The confectioner’s image of a guy in a bear suit using the popular candy bars as drumsticks reminded pretty much everyone of Pedobear. If you're unfamiliar with Pedobear (i.e., if you work at Kit Kat), it's a widely known meme that appears in comment threads to point out that someone's acting creepy.

"When the possibility of [our bear's] similarity to the so-called 'Pedobear' was raised with us, we immediately removed it," a company spokesperson said. Perhaps before launching another social media initiative, the company will familiarize itself with the "so-called Internet." [Source]
