Tiny kitten saved after getting stuck in a Lincoln statue
11/19/2012Kittens do have a habit of getting themselves stuck in some unusual places. A Florida TV station recently captured the dramatic rescue by firemen of a 3-week-old kitten inside a statue of Abraham Lincoln at Clermont President's Hall of Fame. With the reporter communicating with the little fellow through the power of meowing, firefighters dealt with the tricky task of saving the kitten without damaging the statue. They eventually managed to drill a hole at the back of the monument and lowered a fireman inside, who responded to the cheers with a hardy "just doing my job." Museum curator John Zweifel now wants to adopt the kitten, predictably christened "Abe." [Source]
