Cat gives birth to litter of adorable kittens in birdhouse

9/10/2012

It’s a beautiful wood and shingle A-frame with a great view, so the expecting mother cat must have thought the carefully built birdhouse was worth the 20-foot climb. The black-and-white mom had four adorable kittens in the birdhouse, which had been built to encourage the arrival of an owl breed known as Little Owls, on a private English property. Now it's encouraging the new kittens to leap amongst the branches and look extra-adorable huddled up in their swanky accommodations – and probably encouraging any actual birds in the neighborhood to look into a new nest elsewhere. The birdhouse's owners are hoping the original tenants – a family of Little Owls – will reclaim it once kitty-mom's an empty-nester. [Source]
