Sandwich-bagged kittens found in man’s freezer in, yes, Florida

Florida might be known for its warm weather but some kittens found themselves facing a deep freeze there recently. Rodney J. Blanchard, 39, of St. Petersburg, was arrested on Sunday for storing kittens in his freezer. His crime unraveled in a way that suggests he wanted to be caught. He asked a friend to get him a beer out of the freezer and when she couldn’t find any he told her there were kittens in there (uh, obvious reply). She tried to remove them but he pushed her aside. She got the hell out and phoned the police, who arrived to find four extremely chilled kittens individually wrapped in sandwich bags; three were still alive and went to an animal shelter. [Source]
