Kitty litter brand tweets apology for stinky billboard
4/12/2012Tidy Cats has really stepped in it with a billboard that labeled a Cincinnati neighborhood smellier than the manufacturer's odor-erasing litter. As part of its "No More PU" campaign highlighting things that "stink," the Purina-owned brand erected a billboard in Cincy's historically troubled but revitalizing Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The billboard read: "You're so over Over-The-Rhine. #lifestinks." Residents got their backs up and fur flew across the social media landscape. Purina swiftly tweeted its regrets, promising a quick remedy. Sure enough, the offending billboard has been replaced with an ad promoting pet adoption.
Do you think the Tidy Cat billboard stinks?
