Kobe Bryant scores 30,000 points (not all in one game, obviously)
12/6/2012Move over, Michael Jordan — Kobe Bryant has gained entry into your special club. The Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard became the youngest player to score 30,000 points in his career, reaching the milestone during the first half of a game against the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night. He started the game needing only 13 points to reach his target and finished with 29 in a 103-87 win. That leaves him a little more than 8,000 points shy of the all-time record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 38,387 points. If his Lakers teammates can get their acts together, Bryant might even beat that record before he turns 40 in 2018. [Source]
