Boy abandoned as infant 10 years ago meets fireman who saved him

11/16/2012

Think a 10-year-old is too old to have a birthday party at a fire station? Not if you're Koregan Quintanilla, who yesterday got to meet Wesley Keck, the Arlington, Texas, fireman who saved him after his mother legally abandoned him at the station in 2002. Texas was the first state with a Baby Moses law, allowing parents to forfeit babies up to 60 days old at fire stations and hospitals. Still, Keck was shocked and excited to find the sleeping babe, announcing that "somebody had left us a gift" before snuggling Koregan like he cuddled his own four kids. Yesterday, Koregan gave Keck a big thank-you hug before catching a sweet ride on a firetruck. [Source]
