Kremlin takes a shot at its own vodka brand
2/16/2012In the new kinder, gentler Russia, government serves YOU ... its own branded alcohol. Kremlin Award premium vodka contains "only the best grains and ethanol brands," according to RIA Novosti. Unless you're an honorary ex-KGB agent, though, the booze will likely never touch your American lips, as the liquor is only to be served at Russian presidential events. More than one Russian retailer, however, has begun offering it online, for about $27 a half-liter. If you can't read Cyrillic, you might have a hard time deciphering a good number of the tweets regarding the newly debuted spirit, but at least one Huffington Post commenter confesses a kinship, stating, "Much like their moonshining cousins in Tennessee, the Russian people are proud of their heritage." Next up: Kremlin Beer and Kremlin Lemonade.
