LA freeway covered in 19,000 pounds of dog food
4/12/2012A Los Angeles big rig accident Wednesday morning combined Angelenos' least-favorite thing (traffic jams) with one of their favorites (dogs). But don't worry, no animals were harmed. In a doggie nightmare come true, the 10 West freeway was covered with a whole lot of Fido's dinner when an out-of-control vehicle heading down an on-ramp caused a massive 18-wheeler to topple over and spill its dog food cargo -- all 19,000 pounds of it. Crews spent hours sweeping up the kibble, but no word on whether it was trashed or donated to the nearby Baldwin Park Animal Shelter.
