Editor's Note: We're taking a look back at the most noteworthy stories from the last week on msnNOW. While many of you had great insights into the pet psyche after reading this story first posted on Feb. 20, our favorite response to the question "Why do you think the dog tried to jump?" was from reader Jaguarsky, who is obviously a fan of the Disney Pixar movie "Up." Jag, we agree that "SQUIRREL" is the most plausible answer. If you haven't had the pleasure of watching "Up," here's the relevant clip.
A dog who tried to jump off a second-story balcony in Hollywood -- no, it wasn't Uggie from "The Artist" reacting to his Oscar snub -- recently became a minor celebrity thanks to Twitter. Scott Potasnik photographed the possibly depressed pooch during his attempted leap, then tweeted the photo and a nail-biting play-by-play. All ended well after the pooch's paw got stuck in the railing and neighbors saved the dog. Maybe not as dramatic as Paris Hilton's Chihuahua trying to off herself on "South Park", but Potasnik, for one, is glad the pup lived to see another day, tweeting, "i once had a girlfriend who claimed I loved animals more than her. after today, i can confirm that she was completely f---ing right."
