2/1/2013

After 22 years, the Labrador retriever is still America's top dog. And, overall, according to the American Kennel Club's annual rankings, little dogs are being mauled by larger breeds in the popularity stakes. "The bulldog has muscled his way into the top five," said AKC spokeswoman Lisa Peterson as the Yorkshire Terrier got dumped into sixth spot. In New York, the poor little Yorkie has been all but bagged and thrown in the Hudson. Last year, it was the most popular dog in that region, but now places fifth as bulldogs nipped into top spot in 2012. [Source] and [Source]
