These two dogs might be able to save the lives of 96 other animals

Two Labrador retrievers are being praised as lifesavers after becoming record-setting blood donors. Heledd, 6, and Garin, 8 1/2, have both given blood 12 times for the United Kingdom's Pet Blood Bank. Each dog can donate up to four times every year and each donation could save the lives of four other animals. "Dogs have the same diseases and emergencies as us," blood bank founder Wendy Barnett said. "If we need blood, donations would be there for us, so we thought it should be the same for our dogs." And for their good deeds, the two Labs get a free health check, a biscuit and — hopefully — all the belly rubs two good dogs can handle. [Source]
