Hometown girl Lady Gaga donates $1M to NYC Sandy relief fund
11/8/2012If Lady Gaga's perplexing fashion sense, inescapable hits and commercial ventures such as Gaga-branded designer water make you wince whenever the pop star is mentioned, the fact that the native New Yorker just donated $1 million to the Red Cross Sandy relief fund might make you think more kindly of her. In a statement on her website, Lady Gaga wrote that the donation was on behalf of herself, her sister and parents, saying, "If it wasn't for NYC: the Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman or artist that I am today." Nice work, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. [Source]
