Brilliant cops tase blind man after mistaking his cane for a sword
10/17/2012Red-faced police in Lancashire, England, have apologized to pretty much everyone for wrongly tasing a blind man after mistaking his cane for a samurai sword. The cops had received several calls about a sword-wielding man walking through the streets. Colin Farmer, a 61-year-old blind man, was on his way to a pub when an officer asked him to stop. He didn't — maybe because he didn't think the cop was talking to him? — and he was hit with several thousand volts of electricity. Farmer fell to the ground, terrified. "We are extremely sorry," a police spokesman said. "We have launched an urgent investigation to understand what lessons can be learned." Maybe start by learning what samurai swords look like?
