Ewing through more than 300 episodes of the show and an astonishing 14 seasons. At the show’s peak, America was captivated by a storyline that revolved around Ewing’s attempted murder, and millions of Americans tuned in to answer one of the biggest pop-culture questions of the decade: "Who Shot J.R.?" The "Who Done It" episode that aired Nov. 21, 1980 is one of the most-watched TV shows ever.
