Speed-shooting archer puts Katniss and her pals to shame

11/30/2012

Not only are Katniss and Legolas (from "The Hunger Games" and "Lord of the Rings" in case you live under a rock) fictional, but they'd be on the junior varsity archery team if you measured them against Lars Andersen. The Danish ace is single-handedly bringing back the ancient art of speed archery, and he's the semi-automatic rifle of the sport. Ten arrows in 4.9 seconds? Done. Ten in the air before the first hits the ground? Done. The technique takes some time to master, obviously, but the concept is clear: Three arrows in the hand are worth a dozen in the quiver. Now they know who to cast in any "Hunger Games" sequels.
