Congress passes law limiting protests at military funerals
8/2/2012The Westboro Baptist Church is infamous for protesting military funerals with vile signs about God hating homosexuals, but a new veterans law passed by Congress and sent to President Obama's desk could greatly limit their and other groups' ability to disrupt the services. The law would make it illegal to demonstrate at a military funeral two hours before it begins and two hours after it ends, and any protesters would also be required to stay at least 300 feet away from grieving family members. Obama is expected to sign the bill into law later this month. [Source]
