Lazy student fakes kidnapping instead of doing homework

7/5/2012

When you've already blamed the dog too many times for eating your homework, what's the next logical step one can take to get out of turning in an assignment? Fake your own kidnapping. Brazilian college student Susan Paola Fadel Correia just wasn't prepared to turn in her dissertation on the deadline, so she claimed she was abducted by three men, bound at the wrist and held for 24 hours. But in reality, she was just lying low at a friend's house. She ultimately confessed her ploy to her mother, admitting she pulled the stunt because she hadn't finished her coursework. Correia's now been charged with reporting a false crime and could face six months in prison.
