Me with my nigga @LenaDunham of @HBOGirls - I love this beyotch!! http://t.co/VOaV30eB
@VixenOne Lena advertises herself as a progressive but she's chosen not to address the situation. She seems phony to me now.
My personal criteria for engaging twitter debate: I wait until something just sits so wrong in my belly & bones that I must finally speak.
Lena Dunham is finally goaded into answering friend's offensive tweet
2/23/2013It took Lena Dunham of HBO’s "Girls" five days to respond to comedian Lisa Lampanelli's tweet calling Dunham her "nigga" — and Dunham's radio silence did not endear her to viewers. Writer Shayla Pierce publicly took Dunham to task via Twitter, saying Dunham "has showed her true colors on this whole n-word debacle. Her silence speaks volumes." Pierce also stated she wouldn’t watch "Girls" anymore. This inspired Dunham to respond (finally), saying she was "made supremely uncomfortable" by Lampanelli's pet name and that she kept mum because Twitter debates can get out of control. It looks like Dunham’s words ended this particular debate, at least for Pierce, who wrote, "I do <3 you and your work. Thanks for addressing this *hugsies*." Aw, who doesn't love happy endings.
