Three parents to be listed on girl's birth certificate

When asking for someone’s sperm, always get in writing what's expected of the donor of the baby batter. Otherwise, it’s gonna get messy. A judge in Florida recently ruled that three parents would be listed on the birth certificate of a 22-month-old girl. The decision followed a two-year legal fight after a male hairdresser donated sperm to a lesbian couple for artificial insemination. Maria Italiano and Cher Filippazzo thought they had a verbal agreement with Massimiliano Gerina — Italiano’s stylist — that he would donate sperm and they would raise the child. Gerina, however, decided he wanted a larger role and sued. The ruling gives the women sole custody, but Gerina has visitation rights and will not have to pay child support. [Source]
