Life’s no picnic for Barbie in this morose photo project

Attention Barbie wannabes, before you book another plastic surgery op, here's a darker take on life as Barbie. Ace photographer Dina Goldstein's 10-frame photo series, "In the Dollhouse," outlines Barbie and Ken's twisted, loveless relationship, not that fantasy romance you've been dreaming of. Goldstein shot the images in an art gallery decorated á la the Barbie Dream House, and metrosexual Ken and blond bombshell Barbie are played by real models. Follow the story from beginning to end and you'll see Ken sporting pink high heels, fantasizing about men and then finally giving into his homosexual tendencies — leaving depressed Barbie to chop of her head, just like we all did when we finished playing with her.
