Limbaugh thinks 'Dark Knight' foe is anti-Romney conspiracy
7/18/2012Rush Limbaugh continues to impress. He claims that “The Dark Knight Rises” is a piece of propaganda aimed at taking down Mitt Romney. As you’re probably aware, the villain in the newest installment of the “Dark Knight” trilogy is called Bane. According to the Limbaugh, the millions of “brain-dead people” who will turn out to see the film will make a negative association between Bane (a character created in 1993) and the homophonic venture capital firm, Bain, which has been a source of considerable controversy for the Republican presidential candidate. “Do you think that it is accidental, that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed, whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?” Rush asked of his 15 million listeners. Can we just say “Um, yeah, it probably is, Rush,” and move on, without adding how inappropriate it would be to use popular media as a vehicle for partisan extremism? [Source]
Do you think Rush is right?
