Beloved cat who nurtured zoo animals dies
1/23/2013Arnie the cat was a British zoo’s nurturer-in-chief, befriending newborn animals brought into staff quarters for hand-rearing, and occasionally even bringing home lost baby rabbits and chicks to be rescued. Images of Arnie caring for the Linton Zoo’s lion cubs captured hearts across the globe, and four young lions were lucky enough to have Arnie guide them through their formative years (See photos above). On a Wednesday morning, after a last stroll around the zoo grounds to greet his friends of all species, Arnie curled up in his bed and passed away peacefully. He will be missed. [Source]
