Millions of Americans woke up today planning to give their livers a break from end-of-the-year debauchery, but doctors say they need more than a monthlong break to undo the damage of a drink-heavy holiday season. Instead of giving up alcohol for the month of January — a common New Year's resolution — experts at the British Liver Trust say anyone interested in optimal health should instead focus on abstaining two days a week (yep, that's all year-round), as well as get into a routine of exercising and cutting down on fatty foods.
