I'm thinking of starting up a band called 'LENT' just so people can say "Let's give it up for Lent!"

If you haven't given up Twitter for Lent, you have access to a glorious tweet-trove that catalogs what other folks are doing in the name of sacred self-denial. Everyone from a depressed Darth Vader to Squidward Tentacles ("For lent this year, I'm giving up talking to stupid people") is getting in on the sacrificial social-media act, placing a 40-day moratorium on such vices as drunk texting, rap music and even using the word "swag." Requisite Rick Astley jokes are dominating the #Lent feed, although Astley himself hasn't tweeted since November. And if your employer doesn't recognize Ash Wednesday as a holiday and actually made you report to work? @someecards knows what you're wishing for today.
