Farmers using llamas to spit in the face of countryside crime
8/6/2012If you're a farmer whose livelihood is threatened by theft, put your guard dog out to pasture and enlist a guard llama instead. The skyrocketing rate of rural crime is also being combated with guard geese (and if you've ever encountered a bad-tempered goose at a picnic, you know how terrifying they can be). Llamas are already used to protect livestock in the western U.S., where they've proven to be skilled at scaring off coyotes. [Source]
