Lolo Jones didn't medal because the media was so mean to her
8/8/2012Lolo Jones was up early on the morning after her disappointing fourth-place finish in the women's 100-meter hurdles, appearing on "Today" to essentially explain that she lost because she was dragging around all that criticism from the U.S. media. "It was two days before I competed," a tearful Jones said. "They should be supporting our … athletes and instead they just ripped me to shreds." Jones was referring to a New York Times column that slammed her for being All Image, No Results and for altering that image to appeal to every demographic (and they mentioned her virginity, as if her like-new ladyparts somehow slowed her down). Sorry, Lolo, but you didn't exactly prove them wrong. [Source]
